Shaving Soap By Marie Browning
A homemade soap designed to give you a dense foam for use in shaving. The added glycerin softens the skin, the witch hazel tones and the healing Vitamin E helps with any nicks and razor irritation on sensitive skins. The bracing scent helps to refresh your morning. Makes four round bars. |
Materials Needed
Fields Landing Soap Factory -
- Creamy Coconut Soap Base: 10 ounces.
- Peppermint & Cinnamon Stick Fragrance Oil: 20 drops Peppermint oil and 20 drops Cinnamon Stick oil. "Orange" Liquid Colorant: 5 drops orange.
- Standard Bar Soap Shapes Mold # 71120.
- 1 Tablespoon witch hazel. 6 Vitamin E capsules, cut open and squeeze out the oil.
- 1 Tablespoon glycerin.
- 2 Cup Pyrex measuring cup.
- Metal Spoon.

|
Directions
- Slice soap into thin 1/8" strips for quick, easy melting.
- Place sliced soap into the Pyrex measuring cup and microwave for approximately 45 seconds to 1 minute on high. The melting time will vary depending on the amount of soap. Remove and stir lightly. Continue to microwave at 15 - second intervals until completely melted.
- While the soap is melting, mix the glycerin, Witch Hazel, Vitamin E, colorants and fragrance oils together.
- Add the additives and mix until well blended.
- Pour the soap into the round shaped mold.
- Let the soap cool and harden completely before removing from the mold. This soap is a little soft and will come out of the mold easier if wrapped in plastic then placed in the freezer for a few minutes before un-molding.
